Situated in the heart of the Rangitikei, Moonridge sits on 6 acres just outside Marton township.
The property was previously known as “Marama” (meaning “Moon” in Maori), so when it came time to take a kennel name “Moonridge” seemed appropriate. We have been involved in Rhodesian Ridgebacks for nearly 25 years, getting our first Ridgeback “Bronson” from Rachel Janes of Nambala Kennels . The Border Terriers were introduced to us by Pat and Dave Herd with their border “Bob”. We fell in love with this gutsy little breed.
Alli has competed in dog sports for many years, with the current time being spent at Breed shows. She has been involved in Canine Friends, Wellington Obedience Clubs, and appeared on Tux Wonder Dogs with her first Ridgeback “Bronson”. “Colin” her adopted RR was a Canine Friend and visited a number of rest homes in the area.
Our dogs are our family. They spend their time lying by the fire in winter and on the deck in the summer, swimming in the duck pond, chasing bunnies but more often each other.
These two breeds compliment each other – they both make great companions and are always keen for an adventure.
